OK, now we are ready to start; we know the postulates of quantum mechanics and some of their consequences. But before trying to describe the most simple atom in the Universe, the hydrogen atom, we will study some systems as the free particle, as a particle in a box, as momentum angular operators and as the rigid rotor: Once we have studied all these systems, we could understand in a better way the mechanic quantum description of hydrogen atom.
But now, we will study something very simple, the system formed by one free particle.
Ahora estamos preparados para empezar. Pero antes de abordar el estudio del átomo más simple del Universo que es el átomo de hidrógeno, estudiaremos algunos sistemas que nos ayudarán a entender mejor la descripción mecanocuántica del átomo de hidrógeno. Estos sistemas serán la partícula libre, la partícula en la caja, los operadores del momento angular y el rotor rígido.
Así pues, empecemos por el estudio de algo tan simple como una partícula libre.
